Trying without Success
Failure | Motivation | Repetition
My Thoughts
I hate failure. I hate being seen as weak and pathetic. This infused a fear of failure within me, and affected my ability to motivate myself to accomplish a goal.
I understand that it is natural to set goals, fail at accomplishing those goals, and repeat this process. But what people don’t tell you, is that it is emotionally draining.
It doesn’t matter the level of failure or the number of times I failed. Failure feels like a punishment, and everytime I internalize it. I become emotionally triggered.
What should you do if by trying to accomplish a goal there is a chance that you may fail?
Technically, enhance the probability that you will not fail. By taking actions to increase the probability of you accomplishing your goal.
Emotionally, accept that failure is an option. Be willing to accept the consequence of failure.
Businessly, make the goal SMART. Make it specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-specific. Also, convert your large goals into attainable small goals.
Conclusion
Failure is demoralizing, but learning to cope with failure is essential for success throughout life.
